 In-office and mobile procedures when medically appropriate

Certain skin conditions require more than topical or oral medication. When clinically indicated, dermatologic procedures may be performed to help diagnose a condition, treat abnormal or symptomatic lesions, or guide further treatment.

Procedures are recommended based on your individual examination, medical history, and clinical needs.

Skin Biopsies
A small sample of skin may be collected and sent to a pathology laboratory for further evaluation. Biopsies may be recommended for suspicious or changing lesions, persistent rashes, or other conditions requiring microscopic examination for diagnosis.

Cryotherapy
Liquid nitrogen may be used to treat certain skin lesions by freezing the affected tissue. Cryotherapy is commonly used for conditions such as actinic keratoses, warts, and select benign lesions when medically appropriate.

Treatment of Benign & Symptomatic Lesions
Certain benign skin growths that become irritated, painful, inflamed, or otherwise symptomatic may be treated after evaluation. Treatment options depend on the type and location of the lesion and may include cryotherapy or other appropriate techniques.

Skin Cancer Evaluation & Biopsy
Suspicious, changing, or non-healing lesions can be evaluated and biopsied when appropriate. If pathology identifies a skin cancer requiring additional treatment, we help coordinate the appropriate next steps and specialist referral when necessary.

Intralesional Injections
Medication may be injected directly into certain skin lesions when clinically appropriate. Intralesional therapy may be used for select inflammatory conditions, hypertrophic scars or keloids, and certain forms of hair loss.

Other Minor Dermatologic Procedures
Additional procedures may be available depending on the condition being treated, clinical indication, and care setting. Your treatment options will be discussed with you before any procedure is performed.

Please note: Not every procedure is appropriate for every patient or available in every care setting. An evaluation may be required before a procedure can be scheduled or performed.

When appropriate, additional testing may be used to help clarify a diagnosis and guide treatment. This may include microscopic examination of skin scrapings, laboratory testing, cultures, pathology evaluation following biopsy, or other diagnostic studies based on the patient's presentation.  

 Telemedicine

Secure virtual appointments are available for many dermatologic concerns, follow-up visits, medication management, and ongoing treatment monitoring. Patients may be asked to submit clear photographs before or during their appointment when appropriate.

Some conditions require an in-person examination, diagnostic testing, biopsy, or procedure. If your concern cannot be appropriately evaluated through telemedicine, we will help determine the appropriate next step.

Mobile & Facility Dermatology

GR Dermatology & Wellness provides on-site dermatologic care to residents of skilled nursing facilities and assisted living communities.

Services may include comprehensive skin assessments, evaluation and management of acute and chronic dermatologic conditions, skin cancer screening, biopsies, cryotherapy, and other medically appropriate dermatologic procedures.

We coordinate with facility nursing teams, caregivers, families, and other healthcare providers when appropriate to support continuity of care.

Select In-Home Visits

In-home dermatology visits may be available in select circumstances based on location, clinical need, and availability. Please contact our office to determine whether an in-home visit is appropriate for your needs.
